Mt. Victoria – (3053meter), locally known as Khon Nu Son in Chin language is a designated National park under name of Naamataung with the core area of 72300 hectares. This region possesses many species of birds and plants. Some rare flowers found on its summit and nowhere else in the world.
Obviously, Chin tribe women wearing various pattern of the tattoo on their face and attractive amber necklaces. Chin tribal ritual used to celebrate the successful hunt of a wild ox for meat and when killed, the hunter got to raise a totem known as sacrificial post recognition of his prowess and bravery and successful. Burial plots placing under large stone plaque are common in this area.
Day 1: Bagan – Saw – Kanpetlet
After Breakfast at Bagan, We travel by minivan to our planned destination Kanpetlet, (via Saw) on the southern edge of the Mt. Victoria National Park, beautifully parched on the ridge with (1200 +meter) in elevation and weather immediately became pleasant despite the heat and dust in the plain. In the afternoon we explore the rural part of Kanpetlet, we observe Chin tribal women wearing different facial tattoo patterns. Each ethnic group has its own pattern which distinguishes them from one another. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and overnight in Kanpetlet Hotel.
Day 2: Kanpetlet – Yelaung Ban – Sa Ma Tha
Breakfast and we transfer by vehicle to the trek head at Yelaung Ban. From where wildness trail goes through the ridge of the mountain offering a panoramic view of the plain down below. After a long day trek we finally reach our today destination at Sa Ma Tar village. Here we settle in at one of the local homes.
Day 3: Sa Ma Tha – San Ein Nu – Ampon – Ngon Laung – Kan Laung – Yelaung Ban – Kanpetlet
Breakfast and we trek to our today destination at Ngon Laung. Trek goes along the dirt road but lots of greenery and beautiful birds. Here we meet our vehicle and drive pass Kan Laung and Yelaung Ban back to Kanpetlet. Before we check-in at the hotel, we explore downtown Kanpetlet to enjoy the site and sounds of what the town has to offer. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Kanpetlet – Mt. Victoria – Saw – Bagan
Breakfast transfer to the base of Mt. Victoria (16 km, approx. one hour) where we leave out the vehicle and start the trek along mule trek to the peak at 3071 meters, enjoying the beautiful scenery with colorful Rhododendron flowers and other wildflowers like orchid, etc.
From the summit, we enjoy the fantastic view of the entire plain and later we descend back to the base where we meet our vehicles which take us to back to Bagan, driving down through Chin Hills passing through winding roads with green vegetation. Upon arrival at Bagan, we check-in at the hotel.
