Loikaw, a city of Kayah state is the second destination of this itinerary, The International Trade Centre (ITC) from the Netherlands and the Centre of Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) are working together to promote sustainable tourism in beautiful Kayah State.
Also, the trip is only included two domestic flights and all the other travel routes will be overland driving from one place to another. Loikaw to Nyaung Shwe Inle Lake route is one of the best scenic drives that we ever have seen in Myanmar.

Day 1: Yangon
Depend on your international flight arrival time, our guide will wait at the Yangon international airport and transfer to Hotel for check-in.
Day 2: Yangon Colonial walk, Circular train and Golden Temple (B)
After breakfast at Hotel, take a 30 minutes walks around colonial buildings Maha Bandula Park, the Yangon Region Court, Yangon City Hall and Sule Pagoda, busy Yangon streets. On the way Stop at Myanmar souvenir shop such as Hla day where you can find high-quality products made by disabilities, orphanage. Before proceed to Reclining Buddha Chauk Htat Gyi, hop on a Yangon circular train and take 15 minutes to ride to Yangon Central railway station.
In the afternoon after lunch visit to Kandawgyi Lake and Park which is beautifully situated in the heart of Yangon.
The final stop is Shwedagon pagoda were the largest 99-meter tall golden stupa over 2800 years old.
Day 3: Bagan Temple visit (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, pick up from your hotel and transfer for early morning flight to Bagan, the ancient capital of Myanmar, has many important pagodas and temples to visit. On arrival Bagan Visit to Nyaung u Local Market, Hotel checks in.
Continue to Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of later Myanmar stupas, Kyansttha U Min, a tunnel with an interesting feature of the painting.
Htilominlo Temple, between the early and the late Bagan Period, lacquer Ware Industry. Afternoon visit to Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece resembling a Greek cross: Ananda Okkaung a brick Monastery with 18th-century mural Painting: Dhamayangyi a massive temple which will show the finest brickwork on the plain of Bagan. Stay overnight Hotel in Bagan.
Day 4: Bagan (B)
After breakfast, visit the rural village of MinNanthu, one of the places where you can see cotton weaving and harvesting of the crops in the farms. Here we will explore temples such as the Laymyathnar Monastery Complex, Pyayathonsu Temple, and Nandamannay Temple with detail mural paintings from the 13th Century. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant and then back to the hotel for a rest.
Later this afternoon, begin with a visit to MyinKabar Village by horse cart where we will observe a traditional lacquerware workshop for the production of one of Burma’s best-known handicrafts. Then explore Manuha Temple with huge Buddha images, Nanpaya Temple built with sandstone, and Gubyauk Gyi Temple where you can see colorful mural paintings from the Bagan period. The journey continues to the jetty for a slow cruise down the Irrawaddy River. During the cruise, observe the lifestyle of fishermen and riverside villages, as well as enjoying the unique views of Bagan temples from the river. Return to our hotel after sunset.
Day 5: Mt. Popa – Mandalay (B)
Pick up from your hotel and drive we head to Mount Popa 1518 meters high and extinct volcano from Popa Mountain on the way we will stop at Toddy Plam Farm and learn how to make jaggery. The Popa Taungkalat shrine is the home of 37 Mahagiri Nats or animist spirit entities, statues of which can be found at its base. To reach the top, you need to remove shoes and socks and climb the 777 steps to the summit. Along the way is a multitude of monkeys expecting treats.
Continue 4-hour drive to Mandalay and hotel check-in.
Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 6: Mandalay-Amarapura (B)
This morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to Mingun Jetty, take a boat ride across the Ayeyarwaddy River. Then proceed to the Unfinished Pagoda, Mingun Pahtodawgyi was built King Bodaw Paya and Mingun Bell is about 90 tons of the second-largest ringing Bell of the world. Near visit the most beautiful Pagoda, Myatheindan was built Queen Shinphyume.
After lunch, transfer to Mandalay and visit Mahauni Pagoda, home to a spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves. From here, we go to Mandalay Royal Palace, Kuthodaw Pagoda, where the Theravada Buddhist scriptures are inscribed on 729 marble slabs with the name ‘the world’s largest book’. Next visit beautiful teak-carved Shwenandaw Monastery, the Royal Palace. Then continue to Mandalay Hill where you can see the sunset and the panoramic view of the Mandalay city.
Day 7: Amarapura –Sagaing – Inwa (B)
Meet your Mandalay guide at your hotel at 08:30 am, visit the Maha Gandayone monastery (home to more than 1000 monks) in Amarapura and U Bein teak bridge. Then proceed to drive to Sagaing hill across the Ayeyarwaddy River and will see the rural life of Myanmar People. On the top of Sagaing Hill, a retreat for some monks and nuns, there are over 500 Monasteries in Saging hill. visit a Soon U Pon Nya Shin, U Min Thonesal Pagoda.
Inwa (also known as Ava), a former royal capital of the Myanmar Kingdom located on the confluence of the Ayeyarwaddy River and Myitnge River. After a 3-minute boat ride by crossing a small river, you will ride a horse cart for the visit. You will be led to the Maha Aungmyabonsan Monastery, and the Nanmyint Tower before heading to the Bargayar monastery.
Day 8: Mandalay-Inle Lake (B)
Flight to Heho Inle Lake. Visit Aye Thar Yar Vineyard near Taungyyi and next to Inle Heritage by boat, where you can learn more about Inle Lake, Burmese cat, and plantation. In the Evening visit to Red Mountain Estate & Vineyard and Winery, view from the top will see overview to Inle Lake and beautiful mountains. Overnight in Inle Lake Hotel.
Day 9: Normal Inle Lake Boat trip (B)
Take a full-day tour of Inle Lake by private boat with chances to see villages, the unique leg-rowers fishermen and the floating gardens, built up from the strips of water hyacinth and mud and anchored with bamboo poles.
The tour also includes visits to the silver smith factory, the silk weaving village, the Cheroot making a factory, the boat making workshop, the jumping cat monastery and the most famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda where the Buddha images have been covered in so much gold that they look like balls of solid gold. The final visit to 14th and 15th-century ruins pagoda of Nyaung Oak, Shwe Inn Dein Paya.
Day 10: Inle lake-Loikaw (B)
Taking the boat for 4 ½ hrs from Nyaung Shwe and proceed from Phekhon to loikaw by a car for one hour. There is some hidden treasure Pagoda such as Tharkhong and Samkar Pagoda on the way to Phekhon. Sightseeing spots are these Pagodas and continuing to Phekhon. Lunch at a local restaurant in Phekhon. It takes about one hour to get to Loikaw by vehicle. Visit Kayah Museum and see the sunset from Thirimingala Pagoda (Taung Kwe Zedi).
Day 11: Loikaw – Pan Pet (B)
Excursion to out of Loikaw town visit Demawso local market, take a 30-minute trek to Salong Kana is one of the five hamlets of Pan Pat community. In the Kayan home where you may see artisans making bracelets, weaving textiles and other handiwork. Enjoy Home cooked Lunch at Salong Kana. In the evening visit to visit Nyaung Yah lake where local people to enjoy a stroll in the evening.
Day 12: Loikaw-Kalaw by car (B)
*Recommended as one of the best scenic drives in the Shan state.
By vehicle from Loikaw to Kalaw. On the way to Kalaw, we can see many ethnic groups and colorful plantations. We can stop at Pinlaung and visit the Market. Lunch at Pinlaung and explore the natural cave by the name of Myintmahti Cave on the way to Kalaw.
Day 13: Kalaw-Heho-Yangon (B)
Transfer to Heho Airport, Domestic Flight to Yangon and visit the Bogyoke Aung San Scott market where we can negotiate for the best value. Our guide will be standby for the rest of the day.
Day 14: Yangon Departure (B)
Our team will pick up from your hotel and transfer to Yangon International airport.
